LifeKIDS.tv and KONNECT

At my church, the Toon Town content, called LifeKIDS.tv on our Open site, has been rolling along for over six years now. We have made about 3-4 major changes over the years, but we are about to make and even bigger one. I don't think it will feel like a big deal to the cast members and kids who experience Toon Town each week, but conceptually, I think it's the biggest leap forward so far. What we are striving to do is to get even more kids that attend on the weekends engaged during the week, not only with their families, but with a small group of peers.

Also for over 6 years, KONNECT has been rolling along. It has had some changes and revisions too, but nothing like what we are planning for this summer. Starting in August, we are looking at creating the LifeKIDS.tv and KONNECT curriculum with the same scope and sequence. Using the same Bibles story, the same memory verse, and the same walk away point.

I think combining content will really be a game-changer for the families and kids. The effectiveness and impact will be greater and we are also taking the opportunity of a complete KONNECT re-write to update policies, schedule, storytelling guides, discussion questions, and all kinds of other procedures that we have out grown or no longer really support out objectives.

I'd love to hear any suggestions from any of you out there who have experience with either of these two programs or just people who are thinking about having a weekend and mid-week that support each other.  What are your thoughts?
